CELTIC, Southern Gaul. Allobroges. Circa 61-40 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 15 mm, 1.96 g, 6 h), Durnacos. [DV]RNACOS Head ot Athena to right, wearing winged helmet. Rev. Warrior on horseback to right, holding spear. DT 3161 var. and LT 5762 var. (both with AVSCRO on the reverse). A beautifully toned example struck in excellent metal. Extremely fine.

From the Helvetii Collection, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.

This type usually carries the name AVSCRO on the reverse, but there are no visible traces of letters on this example.
